Legionella risk analysis and management plan
Legionella bacteria naturally lives in soil and water. People won’t fall ill when drinking this bacteria, however, breathing in might cause nasty symptoms. AQ Group specialises in carrying out a legionella risk analysis, after which you can tackle the legionally bacteria. We also specialise in placing a legionella filter, ensuring water behind the filter is 100% free of legionella. When the presence of legionella has been confirmed, we can clean tap water chemically and technically, however, we could also use the Neuthox® method and desinfect the piping system without using any chemicals.
BRL-6010 certified
We are BRL-6010 certified and meet all requirements stipulated in the new Drinking Water Act. Even though the water company has taken many precautions, legionella growth could still occur in the piping system due to a variety of reasons. We can find the bottle necks in the piping system and solve them, in accordance with the Human Environment and Transport Inspectorate (ILT).
We can carry out the following:
- Preparing risk inventory plans (RI&E) and legionella management plans in accordance with BRL-6010
- Creating and updating drawings of the piping system
- Chemical desinfection of the piping system
- Chemical free desinfection of the piping system (Neuthox®)
- Providing advice on possible adjustements to the installation
- Carrying out legionella analysis
- Legionella risk inventory
The new Drinking Water Act 2011 stipulates priority institutions are obliged to carry out a legionella risk inventory. This legislation is upheld by the Human Environment and Transport Inspectorate (ILT). We are BRL-6010 certified, issued by Kiwa. This BRL-6010 certification is mandatory when a priority institution is assesed on legionella risk.
Legionella analysis
Depending on the number of water supply points, priority institutions are obliged to carry out a legionella analysis at least twice a year. Non- priority institutions are also obliged to carry out legionella analysis, to prove the availability of safe drinking water. We can carry out these legionella analysis in accordance with NEN-6265, including sero-characterisation.
During a legionella risk analysis, the entire piping system is traced based on the available drawings and any issues are being mapped out. We then draw up a risk inventory and a legionella management plan.
If preferred, the existing drawings can also be updated and digitised. If there are no drawings available, we can create new drawings, both in hard-copy and digital.
