Adhesive strip method
The so-called adhesive strip method is developed by the Binnenklimaat Techniek Nederland trade association and the Central Government Real Estate Agency, in order to gain proper and uniform insight in the degree of cleanliness of ventilation ducts. AQ Group played an important role in its development.
The adhesive strip method is recorded in the ‘Maintenance and Management Indoor Climate Specification’ document. This document describes the correct procedure for carrying out the adhesive strip method.
In a nutshell, an adhesive strip is used to determin the system’s degree of contamination. The result is compared to a blueprint and qualified on a scale of 1 to 5, whereby 1 represents very clean and 5 represents very contaminated. The adhesive strip used is accompanied by a photograph of the relevant air handling system, ensuring clarity on the impact of the contamination on the adhesive strip.
The adhesive strip method is fully implemented by the Central Government Real Estate Agency; this method of testing is used every 5 years on all of their properties.
